Is my website content safe?

Security is of paramount importance, having invested significantly to ensure that our hardware and facilities are as safe as possible we also take the same stance as far as software and data are concerned. Therefore there are numerous configurations we have implemented on our systems to ensure that your data is not vulnerable and not easily attainable.

The majority of our servers run Linux, if you are familiar with Linux you might have heard of so-called "root exploits". These involve a normal user (an SSH user or a script running under a website) being able to attain administrative privileges on the server for malicious reasons through a security flaw in the operating system.

We have made a modifications to the kernel (the core of the operating system)to protect our systems such attacks, and ensure all systems are up to date with the latest software and security patches.

Despite the security measures we have implemented however, making sure your data is safe is something you are still very much responsible for. When using modern day CMS's such as Wordpress, Joomla, Prestashop, etc, there is always a risk that they can become vulnerable if any of the software is outdated. The major benefit of Content Management Systems today is that pretty much anyone can use them to develop websites, this is also unfortunately a downside as hacking such sites can also become very easy.

For this reason you must ensure that software is constantly updated to the latest version along with any plugins you may have in place, secure passwords are also essential. Failing to do so can leave your website exposed as hackers can find vulnerabilities in order to gain access.
