What is the WHOIS database?

The WHOIS database is a publicly available database that contains the contact information and registration details for every domain name registered.

When you register a domain you are required to provide accurate and up to date registrant information including your name, email address and postal address. This information is then made publicly available on the WHOIS database.

Unfortunately, telemarketers, spammers and others with malicious intentions have been known to crawl the WHOIS database to collect personal details. WHOIS Privacy helps protect you from such activity by replacing your visible details with ours.
